And as some of you know, I'm working on an art journal which includes all my French Historicals Oh-La-La! Challenge reads. I've been drawing several sketches for this art journal- (and I promise to show you some of this art by blogging about this very soon)- but for today, in honour of this great book and the Gortner HFBRT Event, I'm posting my drawing of a young Catherine de Medici.
Here’s Catherine as a teenager...still so young, yet off to be married to the Dauphin of France (would soon to-be, Henri ll).

Beautiful artwork, Lucy! So intricately done, and elegant!
What a marvelous drawing; it captures young Catherine!
I look forward to seeing your art journal.. I've never made it past the stick figure stage of ability.
Lovely and looking forward to much more.
BTW, I posted mine on my blog, although yours is much better:-)
Love her, Lucy you did a fabulous job on her. I especially love the cuff collar it is perfect for her. I got a new one going up tomorrow.
Wow Lucy! That is an incredible drawing! I did realize you had such talent! That would make a great book cover.
Love the colors and the spider web background :)
I don't know how I missed this...so great, Lucy!! It definitely resembles the paintings I've seen of her, and I love that frame! I look forward to seeing more of your artwork!
