The Book Journey Begins...

Welcome to my first entry for this end of year! This will be a blog about all that interests me regarding historical fiction. I plan on reviewing books, sharing information, thoughts and discussing anything that's past and royal. If I could also get a book club going that would be fantastic. Let me know if you're interested, I'd love for you to join in and leave me your comments.

So, off with my first entry...Let me begin by saying that it’s only appropriate for me to give Josephine the honor of being mentioned first on this blog. After all, the blog is named after her.

I’m presently on the third of Sandra Gulland’s 'Josephine' books: “The Last Great Dance on Earth”. I’m reveling in this one very slowly as I just don’t want to finish it too quickly. The first two: “The Many Lives and Secret Sorrows of Josephine B.” and, “Tales of Passion, Tales of Woe”, were absolutely divine. Being totally enthralled by the development of events, I devoured these books too fast, only to regret that it was all over way too soon. So now, I vowed I’d take my time to savor ‘The Last Great Dance on Earth’.
I promise to write a review on this book as soon as I’m done reading it. I know that many of you may have already read it, and/or reviewed it- and don’t really need my review to tell you how good the book was, but I still want to give my personal take on it. (Warning though, I may have already passed judgment on this book based on my love for the first two)…Oh, and besides…I feel I owe it to Josephine.

I love all of Sandra Gulland's books. Just finishing up Mistress of the Sun. I actually like it even more then her Josephine series.

Congrats on the new blog. I will add you to my blogroll.

Yes,I love Sandra Gulland's books too, just can't put them down. My girlfriend just finished Mistress of the Sun and actually told me the same thing you did...she said I'd absolutely adore Sandra's new book. So I'm looking forward to reading it as well.

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll!

I've yet to read the last in the series, but I really enjoyed the first two. I've also read Sandra Gulland's newest, Mistress of the Sun. I like the Josephine trilogy more, perhaps because I am enamored of the protagonist :)

Hi Arleigh. So far I'm beginning to feel like I like this last one of the trilogy the best. Haven't read Mistress of the Sun yet, but I'm planning to for sure. And, of course, Josephine enchants me too.

I was a big fan of the Josephine B trilogy. I am hoping to read Mistress of the Sun soon.

Welcome to book blogging!

Thanks Marg! Yes, Mistress of the Sun is next for me too. I love anything historical but it's hard to pull me away from all that's Josephine and Napoleon. I love your Reading Adventures!
